Goal-setting in rehabilitation

Goal-setting is an integral component of the provision of quality, patient-centred rehabilitation service delivery and ideally occurs in partnership with consumers.

The Queensland Rehabilitation Clinical Network (QRbCN), Goal-setting in Rehabilitation Project (sponsored by Clinical Excellence Queensland) has developed a comprehensive suite of resources to enable clinicians to implement person-centred, interdisciplinary goal-setting practice within an evidence informed framework that supports consumer participation in rehabilitation settings.

To complement the clinician resources there is online information for consumers to strengthen their understanding of rehabilitation and the goal-setting process.

New eLearning course - Goal-setting in rehabilitation

All clinicians working in rehabilitation settings are encouraged to take the Goal-setting in Rehabilitation eLearning course to improve their knowledge and skills in goal-setting within an evidence-informed framework that supports consumer participation. This is a self-paced, four-module course with completion certificates. Consumers may also benefit by increasing their understanding of the goal-setting process.
